Dear Industry Partner,

On behalf of the European Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiologists (EACTA) and in collaboration with the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists (SCA) it is a pleasure and a privilege to invite you to become an Industry Partner at the 28th Annual Meeting of the European Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiologists which will take place in the CCIB, Barcelona from June 6th - 8th, 2013.

Our theme is New Technologies: Better Outcomes? It expresses our aim of integrating all new technological tools used in our practice and research. The anaesthesiologists are facing the questions of when to use and how to evaluate the impact of new technology, especially when it promises to benefit patient safety.

Innovations in technology for anaesthesia and critical care medicine impact on professional cognitive processes like attention, workload, and reasoning. Hence, it is very important to define the characteristics of technological improvement.

At the same time our daily activity is developed in a network of communication that integrates information, research and teaching. The aim of which is to improve patient safety by developing better monitors and drugs to achieve better outcomes.

EACTA 2013 will offer you a unique platform to connect with all the disciplines in a meaningful way through educational symposia, round tables, lectures, networking, and social activities. Our technology extends to colleagues and our industry partners, as we are all key stakeholders in the EACTA Annual Meeting and our daily professional lives. We trust that this Annual Meeting will strengthen our partnership to achieve better outcomes.

We are confident that our programme will attract not only European cardiac anaesthesiologists but also members of collaborating specialties such as cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, intensivists and interventional cardiologists, as we have all worked closely on designing the content of what promises to be a progressive and thought-provoking professional and educational experience.

Looking forward to seeing you in Barcelona!
